Alta Moda is Italy’s couture tradition — the discipline behind its most storied fashion houses, where a pattern is sculpted by hand on the mannequin and every construction line is engineered before a single sample is cut. For generations, that level of craft stayed behind the doors of ateliers serving those houses alone.
Giardina Atelier opens it up. We bring the same technical rigor and hand craftsmanship to any brand’s collection — a first line or a twentieth — and meet you wherever your brand sits, from couture to ready-to-wear. You do not need to be a couture house.
What we believe
A pattern is engineering.
What makes a garment read as luxury is not only the stitching — it is, above all, the engineering underneath it. A Couture Tech Pack and a Couture Pattern, developed together by one Couture Patternmaker, are the foundation every finished collection is built on.
A pattern is not simply the paper a garment is cut and sewn from. It is engineered fit — proportion, balance, how the cloth sits and moves — and it decides your sample. A weak pattern gives you a weak sample, however well it is sewn. Get the pattern right and everything after it — the sample, the production run, the way the garment moves on the body — is easier, faster and truer to the design.
This is the nuance a customer feels in a finished garment without being able to name it. It is what separates a product that reads as genuinely luxury from one that only looks like it in a photograph.
Who this is for
Startup brands, not just couture houses.
You do not need to be making couture to be worth couture attention. “Couture” describes the technical level we work at — not a requirement for your brand. We apply the same Italian Alta Moda discipline to accessible luxury, ready-to-wear, and everything in between, across womenswear, menswear, lingerie, swimwear, resortwear, eveningwear, bridal, streetwear and loungewear.
Most of our clients are building a brand for the first time, or bringing a new category to one that already exists. What they have in common is wanting a pattern and a tech pack they can trust — built once, correctly, by someone who has done this for houses far larger than their own.
How we work
One Italian atelier. No travel required.
Our bilingual atelier brings your collection to life without requiring you to travel to Italy, speak Italian, or know who to talk to. Our Italian Alta Moda patternmakers develop your Couture Tech Packs and Couture Patterns by hand, in our signature moulage — pattern paper draped directly on the mannequin, the heritage technique practised only inside Italy’s haute couture houses. Our sample makers construct your prototype to the pattern’s exact specification. Our Italian hand embroiderers execute your custom embroidery entirely by hand, stitch by stitch.
Everything begins with the Technical Foundation, ordered directly on our store — no call required. From there, if the project is a mutual fit, Giardina Atelier can continue through sampling and small-batch production — or step in for exactly the piece you need.
